Abstract Mason bees, Osmia spp. (Hymenoptera: Megachilidae) are solitary bees, that is, each nest is the work of a single female working alone; there is no caste of workers. As honeybees continue to be under pressure it could well be prudent to find additional bee species with potential as pollinators.
