Abstract
Varroa jacobsoni, a major pest of the honey bee, spreads very quickly and causes serious damage to its host colonies. Mites reproduce inside the capped brood cells, protected from most acaricides. Lipophilic acaricides frequently contaminate wax and the risk of honey contamination can be real (Wallner, 1995).
