Article Title LABORATORY MEASUREMENT OF HONEY PRODUCTION IN THE HONEYBEE 5. RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN WEEKLY COLONY WEIGHT GAINS, AND RESPONSES ON TESTS OF HOARDING BEHAVIOUR, LONGEVITY OR LENGTH OF LIFE AND PUPAL WEIGHT OF THE WORKER
Author(s) CHARLES P. MILNE, Jr.
Abstract The relationships obtained from observations on 14 colonies in the same apiary suggest that each laboratory test measured a component of colony honey production which is important throughout the year, each component being more important in weeks of good than of poor colony weight gain. It was shown that the three components together were of major importance in determining colony honey production, and there appeared to be other components not yet identified.
